Booking questions
How are appointments and charges confirmed?
Every visit is confirmed before a mechanic comes out. We agree the timing and the charges with you first, so you know the call-out and diagnostic costs upfront. Repairs are quoted separately, and you approve them before any extra work starts.
How quickly can a mechanic get to me?
We aim to respond within 12 hours, Monday to Friday between 06:00 and 18:00. The exact arrival time is confirmed when we book your visit.
What information do you need from me?
Your vehicle (make, model and year), a short description of the problem, your suburb and a phone or WhatsApp number. The service address, preferred time and any access details (such as estate gate instructions) help us plan the visit.
Pricing questions
What will it cost?
The call-out starts at R450. If diagnostics are needed, the assessment is R400, so R850 in total before parts or extra work. Repairs are quoted separately. Servicing and fleet maintenance get a tailored quote.
Is a mobile mechanic more affordable than a workshop?
It depends on the job. Our call-out and diagnostic prices are published upfront, and you save the time and transport of a workshop drop-off. We quote repairs before starting, so you can compare.
Do you work with insurance claims?
No, we do not work with insurance claims.
Coverage questions
Which areas do you cover?
All areas in Johannesburg North, including Midrand, Sandton, Randburg and Rosebank, as well as Roodepoort West, Centurion, and Hatfield and the CBD in Pretoria. We confirm coverage for your exact street address when you book a visit.
Can you come to my home or work?
Yes. We work at suitable home, office and estate locations, as long as the mechanic has safe access to the car.
Services questions
How are your mechanics selected?
[CONFIRM: qualifications, experience and vetting required of FixASAP mechanics]
Do you supply parts?
Yes. We source the parts for the job and include them in your repair quote, so you know the full cost before we start.
Do you look after company fleets?
Yes. We plan maintenance and service reminders vehicle by vehicle, with a tailored quote for your fleet.
Will you just replace my battery?
Not automatically. A car that will not start is not always a battery problem, so we assess the battery, starter and electrics first and then explain the options. If the battery does need replacing, we can supply and fit one on the spot.
Is a service the same as a roadworthy certificate?
No. A service maintains your car, while a roadworthy certificate is issued by an accredited testing station. [CONFIRM: FixASAP does not issue roadworthy certificates]
